Hop-on Hop-off Bus

Went into Washington DC. today. Used the Hop-on, Hop-Off bus to get around the Mall area and see the Monuments.  First we rode to the Jefferson Memorial and got off while Gary and Judy went on (they had already seen this one), then got back on the bus and rode to the Lincoln Memorial. Met up with Gary and Judy and went to see the “Vietnam Veterans Memorial”.  Walked to the Korean War Veterans Memorial, and then to the WW II Memorial. Next we went to lunch at the Dept. of Agricultural.  After Lunch checked out the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and could not get on a tour till 5:30pm.  We had 2-1/2 hrs. to wait so we headed over to the Museum of American History. I took a side trip to go all the way up to the Washington Monument and touch it and get some more pictures.  Then I caught up with everyone else.  At 5:00 pm we headed back to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and went on the tour.  Walked back to the Train and rode back to College Park to get the Truck.  Stopped at the Local IHOP for dinner. This was a Long Day!

I did not take any pictures in the Museum of American History  (Most of the displays were so dark and they said no flash photography allowed.) and taking pictures in the Bureau of Engraving and Printing was not allowed.  While we were watching the inspectors check the packets of Bills after printing they actually found a mistake and had to go through the process of replacing it with a pack of Star Notes which indicates that the sequence of serial numbers has been interupted.
